Terms of Service.
These Terms govern your use of Baytee. Please read them carefully — they describe what we promise, what we ask of you, and how we handle the rare cases where something goes wrong. By creating an account you agree to be bound by them.
01Welcome
Baytee is operated by Baytee Home Services LLC, a company incorporated in Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("Baytee", "we", "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Baytee.
Baytee provides two distinct things: (a) free community features available to verified Masaar residents, and (b) paid home services available for booking. Different rules apply to each — read both sections carefully.
02Eligibility
To register and use Baytee you must:
- Be at least 18 years old, or have your legal guardian's consent if you are a household member under 18;
- Be a resident, household member, or owner of a property in Masaar (Sharjah, UAE);
- Provide accurate registration information including your unit code;
- If you are a tenant, provide the end date of your tenancy contract.
We may verify residency by any reasonable means and may suspend accounts where eligibility cannot be confirmed.
03Account registration
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Authentication uses one-time codes sent to your email or phone — there is no password to remember, but you must not share access to the device receiving those codes.
You may close your account at any time by writing to privacy@baytee.io. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data after closure.
04Community features
Community features — clubs, events, polls, marketplace, lost & found, directory, resources, local-offer redemption — are free for verified residents and will remain free for the foreseeable future. We earn nothing from community use.
Acceptable use
When using community features you agree not to:
- Post spam, advertisements unrelated to Masaar, or pyramid schemes;
- Harass, threaten, or harm other residents;
- Post unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, or obscene content;
- Misrepresent your identity or your unit;
- Scrape or copy resident data outside normal use of the app;
- Use the marketplace to sell prohibited goods (alcohol, tobacco, firearms, controlled substances, counterfeit items, live animals);
- List the same item or service in both the resident-business directory and a Baytee-curated service category where doing so would compete unfairly.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these rules, to issue warnings, and in serious or repeated cases to suspend or terminate accounts. Decisions about removals can be appealed at wecare@baytee.io.
05Services (paid)
Baytee offers paid home services through a hybrid model. It is important to understand the difference — your rights vary slightly between the two.
(a) Services delivered directly by Baytee
For services Baytee delivers in-house (where the booking page identifies "Baytee" as the service provider), Baytee is your direct contractual counterparty. Baytee is fully responsible for the service quality, timing, and outcome. Any liability sits with Baytee under UAE consumer-protection law.
(b) Services delivered by partner providers
For services delivered by independent third-party partners (where the booking page identifies a partner name), Baytee acts as a technology platform facilitating the booking and payment. The partner is the direct service provider and bears primary responsibility for service delivery.
In this model, Baytee:
- Vets each partner before listing them;
- Mediates any dispute between you and the partner;
- Backs the booking with a Baytee quality guarantee — if a partner service goes meaningfully wrong, Baytee will make it right (repair, redo, refund, or compensation, at our reasonable discretion).
Booking confirmation
A booking is confirmed only when you receive a booking-reference notification in the app and by email. Until then, the booking is not binding on Baytee or the partner.
06Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. Baytee never sees or stores your card number. By booking a paid service you authorise the charge for the agreed amount (per booking, per visit, or per subscription period as indicated on the booking page).
Subscriptions auto-renew on the cadence shown at signup. You can cancel a subscription anytime from Profile → Subscriptions in the app; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and does not retroactively refund previous charges.
07Service quality & disputes
If a service has not met the standard described at booking:
- Missing item or no-show: report within 48 hours of the scheduled time at wecare@baytee.io;
- Damage to property: report within 24 hours of the visit, with photos;
- Quality concern: raise within 48 hours; we will investigate and remediate.
We will respond within two business days. Where a Baytee in-house service is at fault, we will refund, repair, or redo the service at our reasonable discretion. Where a partner-delivered service is at fault, we will mediate with the partner and back the outcome with our quality guarantee.
Cancellation
Cancellations made at least six hours before the scheduled start time are free of charge. Late cancellations may incur a fee of up to the full booking amount, depending on the service and how late the cancellation is. The exact fee is shown on the booking page before you confirm.
08Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under UAE consumer-protection law (Federal Law No. 15 of 2020) or any other mandatory law.
Subject to those rights, Baytee's total liability for any single booking is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for that booking, and (b) AED 1,000. Baytee is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost profits or loss of data, unless caused by Baytee's gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delays or failure caused by events outside reasonable control — extreme weather, sandstorms, regulatory action, infrastructure failures, public-health emergencies, and similar events.
09Provider partners
Service-provider partners (those who deliver bookings on Baytee's platform) operate under a separate Partner Agreement. These Terms apply only to the relationship between Baytee and residents — partner-side obligations and dispute mechanisms are covered separately. A dedicated Partner Terms document will be published when partner onboarding is opened more broadly (V1.1).
10Intellectual property
The Baytee name, logo, design, code, copy, and curated content are owned by Baytee Home Services LLC. You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse them except for normal app use.
Content you post in community features (marketplace listings, comments, photos) remains yours. By posting it you grant Baytee a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host and display it to other verified Masaar residents for the duration of your account.
11Termination
You may close your account at any time as described in Section 03. We may suspend or close your account if you violate these Terms, post unlawful content, abuse the platform, or fail eligibility verification — typically after warning, except where immediate action is necessary to protect residents.
12Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the federal law of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through good-faith discussion is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai.
13Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you via the app and email, and update the "Last updated" date above. If you continue to use Baytee after a change you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, you may close your account.
